Planning Board Getting “Hot potato” Brandywine application tonight-October 2nd

The Haddonfield Planning Board will once again be reviewing the Certificate of Appropriateness Application for Brandywine senior Living of Haddonfield, located at 132 Warwick Rd. tonight at their regular October meeting @ Borough Hall at 7:30. The Board, by a narrow margin, sent back the application for further review to the Historic Preservation Committee in July. The HPC did not approve the application at their regular meeting in September, stating “the institutional building complex remains too large for this historical residential neighborhood and adversely impacts the character of the Historic District” & ….. “the application does not meet the Borough’s design standards in it’s current ordinances”

The HPC is advisory to the Planning Board in Haddonfield. Many of the neighbors and Preservation Haddonfield have requested that the size and scale of the proposed development be reduced. These requests have been ignored by Brandywine, a “for profit” multi billion dollar corporation based in Toledo Ohio.

Stay tuned to PH for details and support the neighbors of Warwick & Moore Lane tonight at the Planning Board meeting!
